Charlie Hunter

In 2016 Charlie Hunter received the Award of Excellence from Laguna Plein Air; the Collector’s Choice Winner from Sedona Plein Air Invitational; First Place in Mountain Maryland Plein Air; “Best Sense of the City” Award Winner in Atlanta’s Olmsted Plein Air invitational; Quick Draw Second Place Winner at En Plein Air Texas with the painting purchased by San Angelo Museum of Art; as well as participating in Easels in Frederick, Door County Plein Air, Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale in Wyoming and Publisher’s Invitational Paint Cuba Forgotten Coast Plein Air. Mr. Hunter’s drawings are featured in Richard Schmid’s ALLA PRIMA II, and his original work is in many private collections of note.  

Affiliations

Mr. Hunter is a member of The Putney Painters, Schmid’s invitational painting group. He holds a degree from Yale University, BA, Art, cum laude, where he studied with William Bailey, Bernie Chaet, Bob Reed, Alvin Eisenmann and the terrifying Inge Druckry.
