Mr. DeWaard is returning to OPAI in 2016. His recent awards include Door County Plein Air - Best of Show and Artist Choice, 2015; Plein Air Easton – PAE Competition, 2015; Lighthouse Plein Air Competition -3rd place award, 2015; Olmsted Plein Air Invitational – Paint Quick Honorable Mention, 2015; Lighthouse Plein Air Competition, 2014; Plein Air Easton- 3rd place award and Artist Choice Award for Pre-Event, 2014; A Little Piece of Italy - Monteprandone AP, 2014; Laguna Beach Plein Air Invitational - The Strada and Randy Higbee Gallery Awards, 2013; Plein Air Easton – 3rd place Quick Draw, 2013 Florida’s Forgotten Coast Plein Air – Quick Draw Honorable Mention; Callaway Gardens Plein Air -Best of Show, 2012. He teaches at The Academy of Fine Art in Denmark, Wisconsin in the Driftless area.
