DeWaard won the Artist Choice and third place awards at 2014 Plein Air Easton, the Artist Choice Award and Quick Draw third place awards at 2013 Plein Air Easton, The Strada and Randy Higbee Gallery Awards at the 2013 Laguna Beach Plein Air Invitational, as well as top honors at 2013 Florida’s Forgotten Coast Plein Air Invitational, and Best of Show at the 2012 Callaway Gardens Plein Air.
He has appeared in the LaCrosse Tribune June 2014, the subject of “Artist Focus” in American Art Collector Magazine June 2012, and teaches at The Academy of Fine Art in Denmark, Wisconsin.
