Jewell’s recent awards include 2014 Plein Air Richmond Architectural Award, 2014 Easels in Frederick Architectural Award and People’s Choice Award, $5K winner of 2014 Michelin Tire International Festival, Grand Prize 2013 Easels in Fredericks Plein Air Competition and publication in the 2015 The Best of Watercolor Splash 16 by Northern Light Publications. .
Mr. Jewell’s affiliations include Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society, and Signature Member of the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. He was published in North Light Publications Splash 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and has been featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine (2009) and Artist Magazine (2005).
In addition to being a painter, Dr. Jewell is an academic with a Doctorate of Education in Art from the University of Georgia and Masters of Art from the University of South Carolina, with many educational and teaching awards.
