Creating A Sense of Time and Place - learn how to use the tools of color temperature, chroma and mark making to tell a convincing story of time and place. Painting on location gives us the opportunity to observe then respond to each situation in a unique way. Practicing this enables the artist to use experience in the field to create better paintings in the studio.

Georgia Color Plein Air extends heartfelt gratitude to our three judges for their invaluable contributions. Judging the impressive array of artworks from top-tier artists is no small feat. On Friday evening, the judges carefully reviewed over 50 paintings from our annual PaintQuick event, culminating in the presentation of awards. The following day, they examined 60 additional works submitted by 30 talented Georgia Color artists for competition.
Awards were presented across various categories, including Best of Show, Best Nocturne, Best Use of Light, Best Representation of Historic Savannah, Best Representation of the Georgia Coast, and Best Architecture.
Our panel discussion is always a highlight of the event, offering a unique glimpse into the judges’ perspectives and their selection criteria. Be sure to arrive early to secure your seat for this insightful presentation!
