Following the reception guests will join an interactive conversation and guided tour that explores the rich and unique art collections from Historically Black Colleges and Universities nationwide. The volume of artworks span the gamut of Classical, Abstract Expressionism, Modern, Contemporary and more. 

Participants will take a guided tour of the Atlanta University Centers’ three HBCU art collections including: Morehouse College, Spelman College, and Clark Atlanta University.  They will  view current exhibitions and works from the permanent collections, while examining the lives of artists and learning about their intriguing careers.

Valerie has over 25 years of art consulting, appraisal, curatorial services and cultural inclusion experience in the fine art industry. This experience includes: appraising, buying, selling, leasing, framing, transporting and installing art. In addition, she curates exhibitions, develops online galleries and manages art collections both physically and virtually. As an Adjunct Professor she develops curriculums and facilitates art education programs for adults and students in public, private and non-profit organizations including corporations, academic, healthcare and religious institutions.
